The DoW CIO is responsible for driving the enterprise technical strategy and overseeing all matters relating to the DoW information environment. This position ensures WHMO capabilities align with national security requirements and EOP operational priorities. The White House Technology (WHT) office within WHMO is responsible for directing the operation, maintenance, and security of information systems and ensuring secure, reliable, and presidential-quality communications.

Responsibilities
  • This position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f. For more information on the Cyber Excepted Service Personnel System, click here If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment. Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following: Leads strategic analyses to define future communications architecture, cybersecurity resiliency, and technical requirements. Evaluates emerging technologies, modernization initiatives, zero-trust security protocols, and cybersecurity capability gaps. Develops analytical methodologies to assess system-security posture, cyber risk, resiliency, and cybersecurity program effectiveness. Conducts long-range cyber program planning and evaluates resource requirements, capital investments, and alternative courses of action. Advises senior executives and coordinates with defense, intelligence, and interagency stakeholders on cyber risks, program priorities, and strategic recommendations.
