About the Position: This position is located in Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon, Georgia. The position is located on the 1st floor of the hospital within a co-located office alongside two other MSA schedulers. Subject to work in individual clinic sites based on mission requirements and the needs of supported clinics. Full-time 8-hour shifts per day. Workweek: Monday - Friday. Core Hours: Operational windows range flexibly between 0730 and 1600. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Responsibilities
  • Manage pre- and post-surgical appointment requirements to ensure patient readiness for clinical visits and procedures.
  • Schedule surgical appointments using the Surgery Scheduling System in support of multiple surgical departments.
  • Compile, review, and update scheduling information.
  • Review operating room (OR) data to compare planned procedures with actual utilization for identification of trends or discrepancies.
  • Advise surgeons, nursing staff, and Health System Specialists on process improvements to enhance scheduling accuracy and reliability.
  • Review, track, and process incoming and outgoing fax and email correspondence related to surgical procedures.
  • Verify patient eligibility for treatment using Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS), identification cards, and other authorized automated systems.
  • Refer patients with unverifiable eligibility to the Patient Administration Division for further action.
  • Serve as an integral member of the Surgical Services Team, ensuring smooth coordination across clinical and administrative areas.
  • Draft memos, letters, reports, and other official correspondence for surgeons and leadership.
  • Greet and direct patients and visitors; provides detailed information and conducts follow-up actions discussed in meetings or patient encounters.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling-related conflicts and issues.
