About the Position: This position is located at Naval Base Health Clinic, Parris Island, S.C. within the MTF Sports Medicine and Reconditioning Team (SMART) Clinic. The mission of the SMART Clinic is to provide the highest quality of care and timely treatment to all patients presenting to the clinics. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
- Accomplish functional restoration of local and general deficits due to injury through personalized therapeutic plans.
- Administer treatment and provide follow-up care as required for the tactical athlete.
- Observes and evaluates the tactical athlete’s function and interprets range of motion as well as strength, power and endurance of muscles to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of neuro-musculoskeletal disorders.
- Documents all care provided in the tactical athlete’s automated health record and files.
- Orders routine labs as needed per SMART clinic standing orders and DHA guidelines.
- Provides emergency first aid, evaluation and treatment of injuries, and aid in preliminary diagnosis to include recognition of severity of the injury,
- Provides the tactical athlete with educational tools to increase ergonomic understanding musculoskeletal (MSK) injury prevention, and social conditioning.
- Identifies, develops and maintains performance improvement (PI) initiatives and activities for the local clinic.
